SmartGuard turns Namibia's existing CCTV into an active intelligence network — faces, plates, vehicles, places and times, joined into patterns a control room cannot watch for all day.
What SmartGuard is
You bring the cameras. We bring the intelligence. The system suggests — a person always decides.
Live feeds become records: faces, plates, places and times.
Events about the same vehicle, person or place are linked.
The behaviour a human operator cannot watch for all day.
The problem
Control rooms already hold camera events, incident reports, patrol observations and community reports. They sit in separate systems, and nothing joins them up.
A partial plate on a control-room feed on Monday. A white bakkie named in a statement on Wednesday. The same vehicle two streets away on Friday. Nothing joins them, so nobody sees it.
How it looks in practice
Partial plate N 4••8 W read on a control-room feed.
An incident statement names a white bakkie — same first two characters.
The same vehicle logged two streets from the first sighting.
The AI stack
Detects people, vehicles and objects in live video.
Matches faces against a controlled watchlist in real time.
Reads plates and their colour; describes each vehicle's colour and body, and make and model where the badge can be seen; checks the plate is on the right vehicle and in a plausible place, for an officer to run against the registry.
Links faces, plates, text and locations to one entity.
Finds patterns across time and place that humans miss.
Every result carries a confidence score and its evidence trail.
Behaviour intelligence
Someone crossing a boundary that should not be crossed.
A person lingering around parked cars without leaving.
Sudden dispersal or agitation in a public space.
Movement counter to everyone else around it.
A bag or package left behind and unattended.
Movement in restricted areas outside operating hours.
Fits any camera you own
If it produces a video feed, SmartGuard reads it — and returns a full AI analysis of what that feed is seeing. Mixed, ageing and multi-vendor estates included.
Data sovereignty
Vantage is built for on-premise deployment on infrastructure the authority controls. It runs its models locally rather than calling a foreign cloud — and in sovereign mode the cloud AI libraries are blocked from loading at all, so that is a property of the build rather than a promise about a data centre.
Where a given deployment physically sits is a decision taken with the authority at contract, and it is the authority's to make. We will tell you where it is.
Built around the officer
Instead of waiting for a victim to come forward and then reviewing hours of footage, operators are alerted as it happens.
No more cross-referencing files by hand. The connections arrive ready to review.
A timeline and a map make the pattern obvious instead of burying it across systems.
Every conclusion carries its trail — auditable, traceable and reviewable.
Mobile
Point a phone at a person or a vehicle, like scanning a barcode at a till, and see straight away whether it needs attention. Phones act as extra cameras and field terminals, with no fixed camera required.
Engineered to scale
Secure and auditable
The pilot
We fit SmartGuard to 200 of your existing cameras — chosen with you across the airport, border posts and priority urban zones — and prove the intelligence before anything scales.
Connections found that would otherwise have been missed. Investigation time saved. False links correctly rejected by officers.
We measure the rejections too. A system that is never wrong in its own records is a system nobody is checking.
Respecting the social fabric
In our villages, women gather under the Marura tree to make Omaongo. The gathering is where information is shared and where community bonds are formed. Technology must enhance these human connections, never replace them.
Who we are
Develop AI — practical, accountable AI for safety and information work, delivered across Namibia, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya and Zimbabwe.
Kango Technology — Namibian, reading the country's social and security realities first, so what gets built fits the places it serves.
Engineered from day one around oversight, evidence and data protection — not retrofitted afterwards.
Next steps
Agree the 200 cameras for phase one. Confirm the hosting site and the access roles for each authority. Set the review date and the three measures it will be judged on.
